A unique mobility medical product for emergency information use.
Posted by admin | Under Mobility medical equipment Sunday Mar 8, 2009I found a rather unique mobility medical product that I think you should know about. Typically this site is for products that ‘us’ elderly would benefit from, but this product is marketed to parents of new born babies. Now stay with me, as I read the article about this product I immediately thought this would be a perfect product for the elderly, and for that matter, just about anybody that is facing a medical emergency.
Think back for a moment to the last time you were faced with a true medical emergency….how clearly were you thinking? Probably not very, which is typical for the circumstance occurring. That’s why I thought this piece of medical equipment was ideal for medical emergencies.
This product is called the SafetyMate, marketed to parents of new borns, that in an emergency situation could have a hand-held device that contains first aid advice that would instruct them in what to do or perform in the way of medical attention. And the really cool part of this product is that once you open the lid to this hand-held device it starts TALKING. It’s a clever talking first aid device that gives essential health advice at the touch of the button.
SafetyMate begins speaking as soon as the lid is opened. The user selects one of the eight emergency buttons and is led through a sequence of yes/no questions with the most important first-aid information provided first. The user can then follow the first-aid steps depending on the particular health problem.
The unit provides advice on eight common health problems including CPR, burns, choking and allergic reactions. The eight emergency buttons lead the user to over 30 health issues.
Retailing at USD $60. the battery-operated unit is hand-held and lightweight (approx. 12 ounces) as well as water resistant. The unit contains a SD Flash Memory card and medical updates can be downloaded directly form the website : www.safetymate.com
