Mobility medical products come in many forms.
Posted by admin | Under Uncategorized Saturday Mar 21, 2009Mobility medical products come in many forms, for a variety of uses and needs. I just read about a writing pen designed especially for left handed persons. How, you ask, does that constitute as a mobility medical item? Well……..what if you are normally a right hand dominate writer, and you just happen to fall and break your right wrist? What’s the chance of you having to write something while your right hand heals? Only about 100% chance, that’s all. Let’s do a little test right now. All you righties pick up a pen in your left hand and try signing your name to something. If you’re like me ,you are going to write something that looks like a first grader, at best. Would you believe that there are over a billion persons with a preference for using their left hand? That’s a huge number of people who have learned to adapt in a right handed world. The pen is regarded as mankinds’ most important tools, if I say so myself. Ever heard of the phrase, ‘ the pen is mightier than the sword ‘? If not, you have now. Not that you will ever have to fend off someone with a pen, I’ld still take the sword for that function.
The Swan Neck Pen is an amazingly simple design, which uses a patented S-bend neck, hence the Swan Neck designation. The pen is said to be easier to hold and can be picked up and used with zero learning curve. The goal of the inventor is to get the pen issued to schools as a standard piece of writing tool.
I personally thing that this new writing instrument should be made available at all nursing homes and Hospitals, as that’s where you’ll find the injured elderly in need of this mobility medical product.
